Role purpose
Help clients establish metadata standards, glossaries, inventories, lineage, catalogs and stewardship workflows using the official QDKC methods and assets.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver QDKC-aligned client work using the official guides, templates and frameworks relevant to the engagement.
- Assess client evidence, facilitate workshops and produce traceable recommendations or implementation deliverables.
- Facilitate and document client decisions on and maintain metadata standards, definitions and quality rules.
- Facilitate and coordinate client glossary, dataset, attribute, relationship and lineage capture.
- Administer client environments where authorized and transfer knowledge for metadata lifecycle workflows and stewardship reviews.
- For client engagements, support data-catalog configuration, onboarding and adoption.
- Transfer knowledge to client personnel and document decisions, assumptions, dependencies and handover requirements.
- Respect client governance: consultants advise, facilitate and deliver, but do not replace the client's accountable owners, approvers or governance bodies.
Recommended minimum requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in information systems, library/information science, data management or a related field.
Experience: Typically 3-7 years in metadata, catalog, information architecture, business analysis or data governance.
Core competencies: Business glossary, Metadata standards, Catalog tools, Lineage, Data modeling basics, Stakeholder facilitation
Preferred certifications
Preferred, but not mandatory:
- CDMP Associate or Practitioner, with Metadata specialty preferred
