Energy
Operational data and AI for an energy transition.
Upstream, midstream, downstream, and utility operators across the Gulf use governed data to optimise output, reduce emissions, and adopt AI at scale.
Our approach
Why Energy
Energy operators and utilities across Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, the UAE, Bahrain, and Kuwait run some of the largest and most distributed data estates of any sector. Sensor readings from rigs, refineries, pipelines, and grids feed operations, safety, and sustainability reporting at a volume that routinely outpaces the governance wrapped around it.
DAI Consultancy works with operators and utilities to establish the data foundations, platforms, and analytics capability that turn raw operational data into decisions, from predictive maintenance through emissions intelligence to safety operations. Governance comes first, because an AI programme built on data nobody trusts does not survive its first contested result.
The pattern repeats across the region. Operational technology data sits in historians the analytics team cannot reach, and enterprise data sits in systems operations does not trust. Each side has a defensible reason for the separation, and the AI programme stalls in the gap between them.
Regulatory context
Frameworks we navigate
National climate commitments
The Saudi Green Initiative, the UAE Net Zero 2050 strategy, Oman's net zero commitment, and the national climate strategies of Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait all rest on emissions data that can be measured, attributed to an asset, and audited afterwards.
Sustainability disclosure
ISSB-aligned reporting is being taken up across regional exchanges including Tadawul, the Qatar Stock Exchange, ADX and DFM, the Muscat Stock Exchange, Bahrain Bourse, and Boursa Kuwait. Scope 1, 2, and 3 figures increasingly face the assurance expectations financial figures have always carried.
Local content programmes
IKTVA in Saudi Arabia, Tawteen in Qatar, ICV in the UAE, and the local content programmes in Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait each call for workforce, procurement, and supplier data at a granularity most ERP configurations were never set up to produce.
OT and IT segregation
Industrial control environments are governed separately from enterprise IT. The NCA controls in Saudi Arabia, the UAE's national cybersecurity framework, and the equivalent regimes in Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait shape how far operational data may travel and where it may be processed.
Personal data protection
The PDPL regimes in Saudi Arabia, Oman, the UAE, and Bahrain, Qatar's PDPPL, and CITRA's Data Privacy Protection Regulation in Kuwait all reach workforce and contractor data as much as customer data. HSE and access control systems are personal data systems, whatever they were procured as.
Asset and quality standards
ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 for environmental and energy management, and ISO 55000 for asset management, all assume a defensible record of asset condition and consumption. The certificate is the straightforward part; the underlying data is where audits land.
Use cases we deliver
High-impact engagements
Predictive maintenance and reliability
Sensor-driven equipment health monitoring that reduces unplanned downtime and extends asset life. The work is usually less about the model than about making historian data usable and joining it to maintenance history nobody has reconciled.
Emissions and sustainability intelligence
Auditable scope 1, 2, and 3 reporting on a governed foundation, with anomaly detection across facilities. The output has to withstand assurance, which means every figure traces to a meter, a factor, and a method.
Production and subsurface analytics
Integration of reservoir, well, and production data so that subsurface, operations, and commercial teams work from one version of output. Cross-functional optimisation is impossible while each function maintains its own numbers.
Safety and HSE intelligence
Leading-indicator analytics for incident prevention, and retrieval-augmented assistants for incident investigation. Lagging indicators tell you what already happened; the value sits in what precedes it.
