Over five days it works through GDPR concepts and obligations, the DPO's appointment and daily tasks, and how to inform, advise, monitor compliance, and liaise with the supervisory authority. It connects the regulation to supporting frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27701 and ISO/IEC 29134, and practises the role through case studies and role-play.

The exam spans three competency domains: data protection and GDPR compliance; the roles and responsibilities for compliance; and the technical and organisational measures for protecting data.
