Prerequisites
Best taken alongside or after the Data Management Fundamentals exam, which is required for every CDMP level.
Examination
Online, proctored Specialist exam through DAMA International. The seven Specialist topics are Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Modelling and Design, Metadata, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence, Reference and Master Data Management, and Data Integration and Interoperability; two are required for Practitioner and Master. ESL candidates receive an additional 20 minutes.

- CDMP is awarded by DAMA International and is valid for 3 years; renewal is through submitted Continuing Professional Development activities
- All exams are based on the DAMA-DMBOK, 2nd edition
- The certification and exams are issued by DAMA International; DAI provides the training
